Introduction

The years 1962 to 1975 had been full of capricious reform. The 60s were the age of youth, as 70 million children from the baby boom became teenagers and young adults.  The movement away from the conservative 50s continued and ended in revolutionary ways of thinking and change in the culture of American life.  The young population no longer looked forward to being like the past generations; young people wanted to change. The changes affected education, values, lifestyles, laws, and entertainment greatly. During war, social piecing and presidential impeachment proceedings, American culture flourished. Movements were stronger than ever within the two decades, and were mostly led with protests, nonviolent with leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr, and partially violent protests with leaders like Malcom X. Political scandals like the Watergate took place during the great war of Vietnam, and left a large impact on our country.
